Here are some books that I have read and some that others have recommended about loving others better. I have mentioned some of these already, but I hope you find this list helpful!
Love Does, Bob Goff
This is an incredible book that is also a huge motivation for this blog. Bob does a great job telling stories, encouraging readers to love others, and relating all of it to Jesus.
Everybody Always, Bob Goff
Also a great book from Bob. This is kind of like the sequel to Love Does. In this book, he focuses more on the idea that we should be loving everybody while in Love Does he focuses more on just trying to love actively.
Loving People: How to Love & Be Loved, Dr. John Townsend
Dr. Townsend does a great job with this book. He provides lots of practicals to love people accurately in all your relationships. This is a must-have!
Well this one is obvious. A lot of principles I have talked about are motivated by Christianity. A big part of loving others well and a lot of the motivation behind it comes from the Bible.
Learning to Love Others, Richard Peace
This book has less of a Christian focus, but it is still very helpful. Peace focuses a lot on getting past the struggle of self-interest and loving others.
The Dangerous Act of Loving Your Neighbor: Seeing Others Through the Eyes of Jesus, Mark Labberton
This is such a powerful book. Labberton really pushes his readers to see others through the eyes of Jesus. It does not sound like much but once you read it you will be blown away.
No Fear in Love: Loving Others the Way God Loves Us, Andy Braner
Andy Braner does a good job wrestling with the current reality of Christians being ‘against’ everything. This is a complicated thing to talk about but Braner provides a perspective that is very encouraging and will certainly help you learn how to love others better.
